MY STORY
Former professional dancer. Dance teacher. Yoga teacher. Wife. Mom. Free spirit. Rebel heart. Creative. Dreamer. Deep thinker. Perimenopausal woman in her late 40’s who crashed and burned with debilitating anxiety and depression after pandemic who, “gets it” from various vantage points and life stages. Been there, done that, but always learning and growing. In the middle of my personal storm, I realized and understood I was supposed to do something with, “all this stuff.” My purpose is to help others get to their “other side,” thrive, rebel against the status quo, live their lives to the fullest and find their light.
I whole heartedly believe, through every chapter of life, everyone has a basic and essential right to be and feel like the best version of themselves, inside and out. Everyone should feel fulfilled, at peace, resolved of past and present issues and trauma, pain free, content and abundant. I also believe that everyone, from children through adults should have immediate and direct access, education, empowerment, tools and support regarding their mental health and overall wellness. Mental health is not one size fits all. Managing stress, having information and support, dialoguing, identifying triggers, engaging in self-care, taking control, commitment, consistency and connecting the mind-body-heart and spirit is key to achieving this. ‘Doing life’ isn’t always a walk in the park, but sometimes that walk in the park is just the tool needed to clear your head, reset and re-center. Sometimes, our inner rebel needs to take that chance, shake things up and challenge our own comfort zone to live fully and feel whole. Self-care of the mind, body and soul is not selfish. It’s essential. We can figure this out, together.
Jess’ specialized area of coaching interest is women’s and adolescent mental health, emphasizing the integration of cognitive behavioral, somatic and creative coaching strategies.
Jess works with adults, children/adolescents, families and couples and is currently accepting new clients.
MY PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Full disclosure: this process won’t always be a breeze. Like anything worthwhile, it requires time, patience, perseverance, and a solid commitment. The most important question to ask yourself is: Are you truly ready for this transformational journey? The one thing I can’t do is want it more than you want it for yourself.
As your Integrative Mental Health and Wellness Coach, we will work together to explore your physical, mental, and emotional needs while creating a personalized plan that fits your current lifestyle. This plan will equip you with the tools and strategies needed to take ownership of your wellness and mental health (get ready to feel empowered!).
The strategies I use are rooted in cognitive behavioral coaching, somatic practices, energy work, and creative discovery. Throughout your journey, I’ll be by your side, offering support and accountability to help you honor the commitment you make to yourself. Whether you need positive reinforcement, high-fives, celebratory dances, a non-judgmental ear, or a little tough love, I’m here to help.
So, are you ready to take the first step toward your transformation?
HERE’S WHERE I COME IN….
THERAPY VS COACHING
What’s the difference?
As an Integrative Health Coach, my role is not to diagnose or prescribe. I don't delve into clinical therapy or address deep-rooted psychological disorders—those are areas where a licensed therapist or mental health professional comes in. Instead, my focus is on empowering you to take ownership of your wellness and mental health, giving you the tools, self-management strategies, and support to thrive in everyday life. Coaching is present and future based with performance in mind. It is rooted in an individualized action plan vs. a treatment plan.
If I ever feel that an alternative/additional professional support is necessary for your journey, I will guide you with the resources and referrals you need to connect with the right practitioner. My job is to make sure you feel empowered, supported, and capable as you take proactive steps to prioritize your health and well-being.
